William
William Kwan is a technically driven visual neuroscientist with experience in developing lesion models, awake behaviour, neural tracing, optogenetics and calcium imaging to manipulate and to observe the functional significance of neural circuits of interest. The overarching aim of his work during his PhD was to improve our understanding on how vision is encoded within the brain and if our knowledge of visual circuit function can be exploited to restore vision in those who acquire severe visual impairment in their life.
He completed his PhD in 2024. He has since moved up to Brisbane from Melbourne and is now working on early detection of ASD in the Dehorter Lab.
William is a coffee aficionado, energetic and loving father of two, and is currently trying to find space for beehives in Brisbane.
